Signs you have an actual emergency
Call now if you have: burning smell from an outlet or panel · sparks from a fixture or switch · a warm or hot breaker · water contacting live wiring · a full outage that isn't FPL · a breaker that keeps tripping on the same circuit · buzzing from the panel.
What to do while you wait
Flip the main breaker if you can safely reach it. Unplug anything running on the affected circuit. Keep water and pets away from the panel. Don't reset a breaker that just tripped twice — there's a reason it tripped.

Pompano Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Lighthouse Point, Deerfield Beach — typically under an hour. Boca, Delray, and Boynton — under 90 minutes. Palm Beach interior and western Broward — under 2 hours.

Is there an emergency call-out fee?
Yes — after-hours has a call-out minimum. It's clearly disclosed on the call before we roll a truck. No surprise invoices.
Should I flip the main breaker myself?
If you can reach it safely (dry floor, no water contact, no burning smell at the panel itself), yes. If the panel is hot or smoking, don't touch it — call from another room.
